Silmbattam is traced back to several thousands of years.It is dated back to sidhar Agastya. It is said that agastya had discussed Hindu philosophy to god Murugan. god Murugan taught him yoga and prana. Agstya has etched all teaching on palm leaves. Of these text one is said to be advanced fighting theories. These poems form the base of silambam
